Use these interactive activities to encourage students to have fun on the Web while learning about 2-D shapes. Students can try these activities on their own or in pairs.

Explain the rule used to create a given repeating non-numerical pattern.

**Instructions for Use**

**Attribute Trains** has students use 2-D shapes, numbers, and colours to create and complete a pattern.

To use Attribute Trains, select Attribute Trains from the list of activities. Study the pattern shown. Drag shapes onto the train to complete the pattern. If a block doesn’t belong where you dragged it, it will return to where you picked it up. When you have completed the train, the correct pattern is described at the top left corner of the screen. Select New Problem to start a new pattern.
