Lesson 7: Counting Backwards

Use these interactive activities to encourage students to have fun on the Web while learning about number to 100. Students can try these activities on their own or in pairs.

Goals
Recite backwards by 1s, the number sequences between two given numbers.
Solve counting problems by working backwards.

Instructions for Use

100 Chart Splat is an interactive 100 chart, which can be used for a variety of teacher-directed activities.

Click “Begin.” Choose a colour and use it to ‘splat’ the numbers on the 100 chart as you count back from a certain number.

 

Dot to Dot allows students to count backward from 20 to 1, to create a picture.

Click on “20” and count backward to 1 to create a picture.
