Lesson 4: Counting Patterns on a 100 Chart

Use these interactive activities to encourage students to have fun on the Web while learning about number to 100. Students can try these activities on their own or in pairs.

Skip count by 5s and 10s to 100.

Instructions for Use

Connect by 5 allows students to practice counting by 5s to 100.

Click on “5” and then count by fives. As you click on each number, the activity will connect the dots. If you count correctly to 100, a picture will appear!

 

Counter Square is an interactive 100 chart that uses coloured counters to highlight certain numbers. Use this online tool to get students to count by 5s and 10s to 100.

Click on the counter you like best to make those counters, then use the counters to count by 5s or 10s to 100 on the 100 chart. Try starting at 3.

Click the “Ideas” button to get instructions for a fun game you can play using this 100 chart.

 

100 Chart Splat is an interactive 100 chart, which can be used for a variety of teacher-directed activities.

Click “Begin.” Choose a colour and use it to ‘splat’ the numbers on the 100 chart as you count forward or back from a certain number.
