Instructions for Use Test the Toad allows students to solve addition and subtraction problems using something similar to a number line, which that adding is not always about combining and subtracting is not always about taking something away. You will be shown a number sentence. Choose the correct answer to the number sentence (either addition or subtraction) by clicking on the person who represents that number. Watch the toad jump across to the correct answer.
Rabit Take Away allows students to solve subtraction problems using whatever strategies they like best. Once they have solved each problem, ask students to describe the strategy they used. Click on “Continue”, then choose the “Easy” or “Harder” level. Read the story and then determine how many rabbits will be left. Click on your answer below to see if you are correct. Click “Again” for another problem.
