### Lesson 4: Building a Number Line

Use these interactive activities to encourage students to have fun on the Web while learning about number to 12. Students can try these activities on their own or in pairs.

Goals

Say the number sequence by 1’s, forward and backward between two given numbers to 12.

Read number words to 12.

Instructions for Use

Count Us In allows students to use numerals and number words.

To start Count Us In, click either “easy game” or “hard game”.

To use Count Us In, count all the items in the picture that are the same as the item in the count box, and enter the number in the text box below.

In the hard game, after you enter the number in the text box, you have to type the number word as well.

Click “play again” to get another number.

Number Line allows students to place numbers on a number line.

To start Number Line, click on the “0 to 10” button under “guess the number”.

Select the number that should go where the arrow is on the number line. Click “OK” to check your answer, or “C” to clear your answer.

Click “again” to get another number line.

Higher and Lower allows students to order numbers to 10.

To begin Higher and Lower, click on the “Numbers to 10” button.

Click on each card to reveal its number.

Once all numbers have been revealed, click the “Order” button, and place the numbers in order from least to greatest.

Click the “Check” button to check your work.
