Surf for More MathChapter 1: PatterningLesson 2: Sorting by Your Own RulesUse these interactive activities to encourage students to have fun on the Web while learning about patterning. Students can try these activities on their own or in pairs. Goal Compare and sort objects using own sorting rule. [C, R, V] Instructions for Use Sorting and Grouping allows students to sort objects in different ways. To start Sorting and Grouping, click on the “game 9” link on the left. To use Sorting and Grouping, drag and drop objects anywhere in the garden to make groups. Click on the “sorted” button when finished. Click on the “play again” button to sort the objects into different groups. Patterning allows students to make patterns in a room using objects sorted by one attribute. To start Patterning, click on the “game 2” link on the left. To use Patterning, drag and drop objects on the bookshelf to make patterns on the bed, walls, floor, and hat. Click on the “play again” button to get a new number of objects. |
